2” 15 lb Sign•Foam will be more than sufficient for a sign this size. As far a kick boxers are concerned, a Sign•Foam sign will not hold up as well as redwood. That is not to say that Sign•Foam is fragile, it’s just not as strong as redwood. However, I would not let that discourage you. In the 15 years we have been selling Sign•Foam, the number of vandalized signs has been extraordinarily low. You can look at this in one of two ways, you can build this sign to withstand the vandalism that will most likely never happen, or you can build it to withstand the rain and cold and the affects of time that every redwood sign made will succumb to.
