Topic: Mounting bracket
Question
We are designing a Sign Foam sign that is 6'H x 3'W and will project 16" off the side of a building. The top of the sign is about 17' above grade. We will be making a custom bracket that can attached to the building and then needs to attach to the Sign•Foam. Is it safe to use Sign•Foam in this fashion and if so, what is the best way to make the attachment.
Answer
Sign•Foam is perfectly safe to use in this application, provided the sign is properly attached to the mounting bracket. The best way to attach Sign•Foam to a metal bracket is a conjunction of hardware and adhesives. For a sign that is this size mounted so far above ground, I would not take any chance with either. This adhesive combined with an appropriate amount of #7 galvanized deck screws should prove to be a very secure and permanent mount.
