| Topic: Build up some thickness | | Question | Noticed a fair amount of your product with p.v.c. sheet as a layer in between. Seems like a good way to build up some thickness & save some money. Any problems with compatibility?
| | Answer | This is an interesting question.. First of all, you may want to take another look at the cost savings. For instance a 2” thick 4’x 8’ is going to retail for around $350.00. Your going to pay $120.00 a sheet 1/2” Sign•Foam and you’ll need 2 of those, that’s $240.00 you’ll pay at least $80.00 for a 1” sheet of PVC. That leaves you with $30.00 for adhesive and labor to put the thing together you can spend the next few winters hoping it stays together.
If you are thinking about larger structures or laminating a panel for mounting support as opposed to thickness, then you may want to take a look a Alumilite. A 1/4 inch panel is rated for over 100 mile per hour wind load.
